Are you feeling overwhelmed as a parent?

You have probably heard of the term burnout used in a variety of settings. Parents can also experience burnout. When they do they experience symptoms such as exhaustion, inefficacy in their parenting role and they emotionally distance themselves from their child/ren. These symptoms can feed off each other and become a vicious cycle. Parental Burnout is thought to affect as much as 14% of parents.

If you are experiencing occupational burnout you can always change your job or take a holiday, this isn't always an option with parenting. If you are feeling overwhelmed by your parenting experiences or think you may be experiencing burnout, reach out and make an appointment.
