Is your child experiencing issues with bullying?

Kids are not always kind and sometimes this can turn into bullying which can take a toll on your child's mental health. Kids helpline report that 1 in 4 Australian students have experienced bullying. The impact of bulling can be felt for a long time.
Bullying is not ok, it can cause your child to have difficulty sleeping and concentrating. It can lead to a loss of appetite and make your child feel physically sick. It can also result in them having thoughts about hurting themself or feeling suicidal. Bullying can stir up many emotions and leave a child feeling angry, sad, confused or afraid.
Of course you should approach the school or whoever is involved in the environment where the bullying is occurring, but the person who has been bullied needs support to reduce the impact of their experiences. If your child is being bullied a counsellor can provide support to deal with the feelings they are experiencing and help by teaching them some coping strategies and ways to avoid the bullies.
